For my money, there is no better poet to set to music than Emily Dickinson. “Luck is Not Chance,” a brief poem, is a work I often run through my head, like a mental chant. So that’s what I did with a bunch of AI voices and upbeat music I created in GarageBand.
Here is the full poem:
Luck is not chance— It's Toil— Fortune's expensive smile Is earned— The Father of the Mine Is that old-fashioned Coin We spurned—
Why? Because I like doing weird things like this and you all deserve something upbeat on a Friday, especially as we have officially entered the long, endless darkness of Presidential election season. New slogan: “My name is _____, and I approve that winter is coming.”
Have a great weekend!
